Insecurities can leave people hurt, alone and plain crazy. Yes, crazy! I know this girl that strives for the attention of others, but she goes about it the wrong way. She says rude things or bring up a situation that no one even thinks about any more. Don't get me wrong, I am insecure about things myself, but i don't have these symptoms.
I don't strive for attention from strangers. In fact I try to avoid un-needed attention. I also love to hate being fake. What i mean is that i don't need to smile in any ones face with the intent to talk about them later to one of my associates just for pure entertainment.
Also I really don't like displaying how much time i spend trying to look pretty. For example, I don't need to throw on tons of makeup, try on 10 different out fits or do my hair for 2 hours, while everyone else waits on me so we can go to an event that started hours ago.
I'm just saying really.

It's What We Make It
You don't voice your opinions or do that thing that you always wanted to do. You come up with these excuses, like I don't have the time or I will do it next week. Stop! I was too once in your shoes and I have my fair of scuffs and bruises but I learned that we stop ourselves because we are afraid of what others will think of us.
You didn't buy that cute sun dress because your "friend" said it was ugly. (cough cough...hater!) If you think it's your style, then buy it! Once people realize that they can talk you out of things than they continue to do it.
For me, I was the timid type growing up and it stuck with me for awhile. I let people talk over like I didn't exist. Then one day I had enough. I stopped letting it go. I spoke up. I raised my hands in class. Call me a nerd if you want but I'm getting mine! (my degree) I voice my opinion and with every day, I feel more and more confidant in who I am and what I have to offer.
So speak up, take a stand and if people say you changed, just say: "Yes, yes I have."

No Love Lost, None Gained Either
Friends are suppose to be individuals that you can count on. Right? Well from experience that isn't always true.
Throughout my social life, since I could talk and walk, I ran into people who remained in my life for seconds, days, months, and years. What I failed to realize was the fact that the people I allow into my world will not always remain. It was also up to me to pick out the rotten apples in the bunch.
My biggest weakness is giving EVERYONE the benefit of the doubt. Yes of course most of the time I am left disappointed that I even put the energy in trying to build a relationship with these people.
What I've learned was that while in these bad relationships (friends, exes, etc), I managed to learn things about myself. I guess in the end it was no love lost and none gained either.

Common Courtesy
No matter where you go whether it's at school, work, home, or any where in public, there will always be someone that you just can't please.
Why does it have to be that way? Well it's something called human nature or the word most commonly used is that you may just have haters.
My definition of a hater is someone who dislikes an individual based on what they have, their success or how they look.
Everyone is sure to have at least one hater. Its how you treat your hater is what really matters.
This is where most people will miss up, so I have a set of rules that these people should follow.
Rule 1: Never, ever, under no circumstances ever, be a hater yourself. That would just defeat the purpose.
Rule 2: Never allow your hater to get under your skin. If he/she does let the results be positive.
Rule 3: Always acknowledge your hater with a smile. Yes, a genuine smile. Why? Well this theory is called "killing them with kindness." IF THIS DOES NOT WORK THEN KEEP YOUR COOL
Rule 4: Let people believe what they want. You are not put on Earth to please anyone but yourself and GOD. (Last time I checked GOD loved everyone, flaws and all)
Rule 5: Refer to rule one.
This is not at all professional advice, just my view on the subject. Hope this works for you :)

Friends or Frienmies?
Clearly we all heard the terms friend and frienmey. It is up to us to determine who fits in what category.
I can list my "true" friends on one hand but I have frienemies all over the map.
Frienimies are individuals who are true to you in your face but will do less than a minimum job could do for a family of five. Basically, when it comes time for a loan or help with a personal situation, these individuals will be no where to be found.
Now a friend is more prone to be there through the good (you make an A on your test), the bad (you have a flat tire and you need to borrow money to catch a cab), and the ugly (you are in a life or death situation and your friend hasn't fled the scene yet).
I think it is clear which is which....just saying.

Truths: Do You Have Any?
I lie. Come on I know you lie too. I lie to make others feel better or to save someone from hurting someone else. My question is is that fair?
What if I told the truth? Who would i hurt?
I believe everyone will get hurt by the truth at least once in their lives. My friend broke up with her boyfriend because she didn't feel the same away about him. She could have even lied and went along with the relationship that was destined to go no where or be honest and risk hurting his feelings.
Of course she let him down easily and the rest is history. That's why they said the truth will set you free, so do you have any?

"And The Award Goes To..."
She sits next to her, hands her the biology notes in class and smiles and tells her that she will meet her after school. Just two hours ago, she was telling the guy at lunch how she couldn't stand being around that girl and she hates giving her her biology notes.
So lets rewind. People, why do we continue to form relationships with people that we apparently don't like. That's like eating too much chocolate when you know its bad for you. Stop doing it
I run into a lot of "actors" along life's fruitful path and the award goes to...

Hmm Who Knows?
I listen to her, as she pours her heart out about the latest gossip around campus; only taking a few short breathes in all the excitement. As I sit in my seat, I began wondering, hmm...when I'm not around is she pouring her heart out about me to someone else? Like maybe her other friends in the other dorm. Or maybe that girl who sits next to me in English. Does she know my secrets?
I leave my thoughts for only a second to see the motor on her mouth still going..."Oh and so and so are dating now, but he still has a girlfriend at home..." I race back to my thoughts in shock as I remember that I too told her my flaws and secrets of the day. This gets me thinking. Does my French partner know what I did last summer or does my friend from home know whether or not I went to that crazy party last week? Hell, maybe my PE coach knows I skipped class because I went out for breakfast instead.
I return back to reality only to see her mouth still moving on to the next victim, and I think, who knows...

Queen Bee: How To Seek Her Out
There is always a "Queen Bee" in every bunch. She is mean, sneaky, and the biggest liar with the most secrets.
She is the girl who, is quick to tell someone else's secrets but fails to share her own. She is associated with lies and best friends with drama.
She holds the sweetest secrets and pays her followers with praises for finding out new rumors.
She is good at what she does. She leaves her enemies in pieces and bites her lover's head off life a tough piece of jerky.
She is your worst nightmare and your best friend. She is the "Queen Bee."

Be Careful What You Say...Someone is Always Listening
Secrets are suppose to be hidden, in the dark, clear of wide ears and slanted eyes. They are supposed to be silenced after the the last period is spoken, printed or messaged. To no surprise, I listen to secrets spilling from the listeners mouths like a glass too full.
"Did you tell her about what happened with me and him"? Lies leave her mouth like a piece of gum chewed too long, as she manages out a calm, "No."
"Well maybe I should have kept my mouth shut, cause now she knows." The truth will set you free.
This blog illustrates through my eyes, the truths, lies and secrets of humankind. Be careful what you say...someone's always listening.
